The goal of this assessment is to determine if a client meets the diagnostic criteria for a Learning Disability, within the area of reading, otherwise known as dyslexia. One’s cognitive, phonological processing, academic, memory and executive functioning skills are assessed in order to determine which specific areas are impacting one’s ability to learn to read.
Often clients who are diagnosed with dyslexia exhibit an unique cognitive and learning profile, which may also include specific challenges related to phonological processing, working memory, executive functioning and/or processing speed, all of which may impact the way they learn, achieve and experience success.
