Gifted Learners

Gifted students typically have more advanced abilities to learn, process and synthesize information than their peers. Common characteristics may include advanced problem solving skills, exhibiting an intellectual curiosity about the world around them, utilizing an advanced vocabulary and/or “out of the box” thinking.

Goal of Assessment

The goal of this assessment is to identify a client’s intellectual functioning, academic abilities and overall learning profile. Such information is used to determine if a client may be eligible for “gifted” programming within their respective school board.


It is important to note that each school board in Ontario may have specific criteria pertaining to the requirements to obtain a formal “Gifted” designation as well as potentially accessing a “gifted” class placement and/or enhanced programming support.
